Can these transfers be used more than once?

Unfortunately, no, these transfers are single-use. They are adhesive stabilizers that dissolve in water after the stitching is complete. Once rinsed, the stabilizer disappears. If your project area is smaller than the transfer, you can cut the transfer to size and save the rest for another project. Please check the product videos in the listing for a demonstration.

What kind of fabric works best with these sashiko transfers?

Non-stretchy cotton or linen fabrics are ideal for these transfers. If you're mending a garment, it's best to choose fabrics that closely resemble the original material. For stretchy fabrics, using a stretchy patch will help maintain a smooth, flat surface. Avoid fabrics that are too tightly woven, such as some poplin shirt fabrics, as they can be difficult to stitch through by hand, even if lightweight. You can test by poking a needle through the fabric to see how easily it sews. Our "Boro Fabric Bundle" pairs perfectly with these transfers, making it a great choice for both mending and any sashiko projects.

Can I customize a pattern in the pack?

You're welcome to mix and match patterns from the shop's four available packs. Simply message to let me know which existing patterns you'd like included in your order. I can also extend a particular existing pattern up to 8" x 11" (letter size) if you like. Custom designs are also available, starting at $30 AUD depending on complexity. Please allow 3 business days to process your custom design.

How should I care for naturally dyed textiles?

-Wash with pH-neutral detergent in cold water. -Line dry. -Wash with like colors. Please note that indigo fabrics tend to bleed when first washed. -Avoid direct sunlight when storing or drying.
