These pearls have an iridescent luster that must be seen in person to fully appreciate - luminous greens, pinks and purples shimmer across the white surface in the most captivating way. The ripples, bumps and dimples across the pearls enhance the effect. Absolutely bar none my current favorite pearl strands in stock at the moment.

Beads range a bit in size from approximately 11mm x 11mm to 12mm x 12mm. There is definitely some variation in the shape of the beads - there's some asymmetry within the square shape as well as variations in thickness - some beads are as thin as about 3.5mm or as thick as 5mm throughout, with the possibility of raised areas on the surface adding in places.

It will definitely be possible to make some good "sister" or "cousin" pairs from these strands, but the variations make me more inclined to leverage these for earring designs with planned asymmetrical elements - IMHO some naturally occurring and organic variation can do a lot of the heavy lifting within a simple design.

Bead Snob® Notes:

Cord Sizing: I paired these with both a Size 6 and Size 8 GRIFFIN - while the Size 8 did fit, it was definitely a very snug fit and probably not something I'd personally use for a project given the risk of damage to the appearance of the cord.

Wire Gauge: A 22 gauge fit the couple beads I checked, but since we can't see the holes, it's hard to know how consistent hole size will be throughout the beads and the strand, so have some 24 gauge wire on hand.

Beading Wire: My vote would be for a “Fine” beading wire.

Your beads/findings will come packaged neatly in a sealed plastic bag. Small items will be tucked into a reusable organza pouch and fragile items protected in a box. All beads/findings are placed in a bubble mailer for protection while in transit!
