HOW TO KEEP NAVAJO PEARLS LOOKING THEIR SUNDAY BEST Avoid chemicals, water, and keep as moisture-free as possible. (Don’t wear your pearls in the shower, pool, hot tub, lake or bath y’all!) Do not use silver polish. A polishing cloth can be used for Sterling Silver. HOW TO CLEAN & POLISH Do not use water, silver polish, or cleaner. Your pearls will naturally darken over time. As they do, use this cleaning/polishing method we use for our Navajo Pearls: Get a pack of super fine steel wool. The finest is called quadruple or OT -marked by four 0000's on the package. Place your jewelry on a towel, take one pad, fold it over the beads, wipe downward several times, and Voilà! Your pearls keep their satin finish, and the tarnish is gone!
