Pad placement is not random, nor standardized.
Each tray is evaluated based on the bathtub measurements you provide — including tub width, rim thickness, and distance from the wall. These variables are considered together to understand how the tray will naturally rest on your bathtub and where first contact points occur.
Working with a highly organic, live-edge form requires adapting to the material rather than forcing it into fixed geometry. To preserve the tray’s natural structure, small precision slots (approximately 2 mm) are opened only where necessary, allowing the pads to sit cleanly without altering the overall form or balance of the wood.
This approach allows us to:
• Respect the tray’s natural weight distribution — an unavoidable part of working with live-edge wood
• Adapt to individual bathtub geometries
• Protect the live-edge character without damaging the wood
The non-slip pads are designed primarily as a buffer at the point of first contact — not as a full-surface base or a rigid fixing system. They do not cover the entire underside of the tray by design.
