Antique jewellery needs special care and should not be placed in jewellery cleaning solutions etc. Some jewellery is not suitable to wear if it might get wet and in some cases perfumes and hair sprays should be applied before putting on your jewellery. In most cases jewellery should not be worn for sport etc. Keep antique pieces in their box when not being worn. If you need specific advise for your piece please message or email us. Your antique jewellery or item will have a patina. This is the effect of time and environment on the surface of the silver or gold. Antique patina gives your piece a special aura. Over cleaning can change the patina to make the item look more modern and in some cases, reduce it’s value.

Please see the link above ( website link) for the Hallmarking notice as required by the 1973 hallmarking act. Items for sale in the UK containing gold and made prior to 1950 do not require hallmarks. Other exemptions to hallmarking are with regards to the weight of precious metal in the item ie. This lovely fine but sturdy 9ct gold belcher chain has a barrel clasp and is a useful length for wearing alone or with small pendants. The chain is approx 2mm wide and the links are round and has a really elegant look.

DAMAGED ITEMS

RETURNS
