We solved a problem flat leather soles have always had: they slip. Rubber soles fix the grip but kill the grounding. We hot-press a grip pattern directly into the leather sole. You get both. Traction and grounding at the same time.

Does grounding actually work?
The copper rivet at K1 conducts your body's static charge to the earth when you walk on natural surfaces — grass, soil, stone, concrete, gravel, or sand. It does not work on asphalt or synthetic surfaces. Most people notice a difference within a few days of regular wear.

Is the sole grippy enough?
The hot-pressed pattern on the buffalo leather sole provides solid traction on most surfaces. The grip improves further after a few days of wear.

Can I wear these without socks?
Yes. The calfskin lining breathes directly against your foot. No moisture builds up. No odor. These shoes are designed for barefoot wear.

Will they feel stiff at first?
No. The leather is soft from the first wear. There is no break-in period the way rigid shoes require.

Are these suitable for long walks?
Yes. Zero drop and wide toe box means your foot works naturally. Many people find they can walk longer distances with less fatigue compared to conventional shoes.

Can I wear these in rain?
No. Leather is water permeable. These are not suitable for wet conditions. If they get wet, wear them while still damp to prevent shrinkage. Wipe clean with a damp cloth when dirty. Apply almond oil occasionally to condition the leather.

What about sizing?
Place your foot on a piece of paper. Mark the heel and the tip of your longest toe. Measure the distance in centimeters. Enter this in the order notes. We match your measurement to the closest last — our lasts are 8 millimeters apart. This gets you a precise, comfortable fit without guesswork.

Do you accommodate wide feet or special needs?
Yes. The wide toe box works well for wide feet, bunions, and toe deformities. If you have specific needs, add a note to your order.

How long do these shoes last?
With normal use, more than 2 years. The leather improves with wear.

What about returns and exchanges?
If you receive the wrong size, wrong color, or wrong model, contact us. We will produce the correct pair and ship it to you at no extra cost. All return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

We ship with DHL Express and UPS from Gaziantep, Turkey. Your order arrives in the United States in 5 to 6 days. Price includes shipping and customs duties — DDP shipping. You pay once. Your shoes arrive at your door with no surprises.

Our Atelier
This workshop has been making yemeni shoes in Gaziantep since the 1950s. Seven hundred years of tradition, still alive in the same city, still made by hand. We carry our own leather stock. Same quality, every order. Around 30 people, approximately 100 pairs per day, one at a time.
Some people get it. Some don't. Both are fine.
