Highlights
“Sunflowers at Night” - Black and white original linocut block print by Amy Rice.
This design was hand carved onto a 4”x6” inch linoleum block, then hand-printed using black ink onto acid-free cotton printmaking paper. The shimmering center highlights in the sunflower blossom were added using gold acyrlic paint.
Size: The image itself measures 4”x6” and comes matted in an 8”x10” black mat.
Note: Each of these prints has been produced by hand. As a result each print is unique, has it’s own distinguishing marks and may vary slightly from the image shown.
This imaginative print celebrates a more unusual view of the summer sunflowers we all know and love for their bright and cheerful colors. I was inspired to make this black and white print after a late night visit to my backyard garden where I could just barely make out the shimmering shape of a lone sunflower glowing in the moonlight. This ready-to-frame print is the perfect reminder of summer or a gift for any plant lover who loves to wander in the solitude of their garden at night.
