Mid Century Style Handmade Fashion Collage: Mixed Media Framed Art

"The Fundamentals" Fashion Collage: This is an original mixed media collage on panel. Painted papers, stamps, handmade paper, and vintage imagery and papers. Art is 6x6", mounted in a black Ampersand 1 1/2" deep floater frame. (Framed, nearly 7" square.) Signed on the back. Free standing, no hanger included, but can be added with request.

About my work: My collage and mixed media pieces blend vintage materials, nature themes, and scraps of ephemera into enigmatic, one-of-a-kind designs. I create handmade pieces by cutting and pasting old books, vintage photographs, handwritten papers, and other found materials, allowing the textures and stories embedded in them to hint at themes of memory, time, and transformation.

I design each piece intuitively, experimenting with the images and materials that seem to work together to tell a visual story. Through careful attention to detail and thoughtful composition I try to reflect an appreciation for the beauty found in the discarded and the forgotten. My hope is to create beautiful and unique art pieces that evoke a sense of nostalgia and stir the imagination.
