How do I tune my shaman vegan drum? (1)

The vegan drums I build have a well thought out and well-made tuning system that is also very simple to use. You can make the sound lower or higher as you wish, to a precise note. How to do that? In the set you get with the drum, there is a small hex (3mm) tuning key. Check out this short video to understand how everything looks and where I explain how to use the tuning system of my vegan drums – https://youtu.be/Rq3vHbTK8nQ. So, on the back side of the drum body there are ten screw-bolts installed. These bolts regulate the tension of the membrane and keep it in the required position, and you can regulate their position with the tuning key.

If you screw the bolts clockwise, the membrane gets more tension, and the sound becomes higher. If you screw the bolts in a counterclockwise direction, the membrane gets less tension and the sound becomes lower, deeper bass. Screw one bolt a little bit and then pass onto the next one until one complete circle of the bolts is made. Continue in the same fashion until you get the best sound for you. The whole process is very simple. Take care not to really force it when you want to make a bigger tension – screw the bolts one by one, and turn each bolt only a quarter or half turn each time. After a while you will feel it – it is important to have more or less the same tension in each screw.

I have tried subjecting a maximal tension to one of my drums to see if it's possible to break the membrane. I didn't break it, the membrane is too strong. So, there is almost no chance to break the membrane, but anyway, don't force it too much – keep the sound optimal and don't make it too high. It is also possible to tune the shaman vegan drum to an exact note – for this, you need a tuning app and there are many good and free downloads to choose from. I can tell you that my vegan drums have quite a large tonal range, and it is possible to tune your drum somewhere from A to D notes. This is a good alternative shipping method behind normal shipping by post. There are some conditions of this special service: - It is safe, the parcel cannot be lost or whatever, these small private companies work very smoothly. - It is fast, you get your instrument in 1-3 days after we send it.

- In almost all cases they deliver directly to the address - the only thing is that you have to be at home to receive your instrument when they bring it, and they normally give a few hour’s notice by phone. If you are not at home, they will normally come to where you are located. In some regions (in Italy) they bring the parcel to their offices in big cities, and you come and pick it up in this office at the time convenient for you. - Almost for all destinations it is the same price as the normal post price, so it is free for Etsy buyers, the shipping is included in the price of the instrument. Some destinations are more expensive, so there is an additional cost between 10-30 euro for using this shipping method. It depends on your address.
