At first glance, it looks like a wooden log, but when you unscrew the covers on the sides, it opens up into a chess board (also magnetic option available for more convenience), with chess pieces represented by different types of mushrooms and checkers by acorn caps. In addition, the covers from the chess board can serve as coasters while you play.
The chess board resembles wooden bark as closely as possible and is printed from biodegradable plastic containing wood chips, which further enhances the forest effect with a light wood aroma and tactile sensations.
You can choose the magnetic option for chess, where each square on the board and each chess piece (except for checkers) will have magnets, which will protect your game from accidentally scattering the pieces off the board.

this is so cute and silly. I can't wait for my son to unwrap this on Christmas. The pieces are a little light, but don't feel cheap. The magnetic option is a great feature to keep the pieces in place on the board.

I picked up this chess set for my 8-year-old son who has recently developed an interest in the game. He's also absolutely fascinated with mushrooms and cute things, so this seemed like a perfect fit for him. I just received the package today and I couldn't resist taking a sneak peek before Christmas. The first thing that stood out to me was the care and attention to detail that had gone into packing the item, including a few little cute treats that were added into the box. The print quality seems absolutely perfect - definitely exceeding my expectations, the magnets stick to the board nicely but not too strongly and everything just looks great. I can't wait to get absolutely thrashed at chess by my son on Christmas day!
