Unlabeled Geoffrey Beene dress and coat set! This has a Saks label, but is likely from the Beene collection of 1969. Dress and coat are done in a wonderful dark gray wool. Dress has intricate soutache trim along the collar and sleeves. High underbust waistline, short shape and zipper at the cuffs. back zipper. The coat is HEAVY with matching soutache trim, knotted buttons and open below the waist. Love the pointed sleeves with knot buttons! There is also a knotted button on the back of the coat above the inverted pleat. on the coat! Coat is lined and the dress is not.
