How to Make High-Quality molds?

If you are using polymer clay, you can dust the mould with the food starch. Ensure that any excess is shaken off with a soft brush. Next, take the well kneaded clay and shape it into a cone with clean hands. Gently press the tip of the cone into the nose of the mould, trying to fill all the cavities. To prevent the face from looking "bloated", gently knead the mould from the sides. If the copy has ears or a long nose, I recommend putting it in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes. This will make it easier to release the copy without damaging the protruding parts. Place the released copy on a flat surface until completely thawed. Then follow the baking instructions that can be found on the polymer clay packaging.

How do I care for molds?

Before using a mold for the first time, you will need to rinse it well. Molds are easily charged with static electricity and attract dust. Therefore, it is obligatory to do this. It is recommended to store molds in a dry and clean place or container. Do not use sharp objects when working with silicone molds to avoid accidentally damaging them. Do not leave molds in the freezer for more than 4 hours. This can spoil the mold, especially if you are using a powerful freezer. . Do not use the silicone mold at temperatures above 200°C.

What is the correct way to clean the molds?

Do not use harsh cleaners. Wash with the soft side of a sponge, your hands or a soft brush. Wash with warm water. Do not soak molds in detergents. It is not necessary to wash the molds every time after use. Wash when the molds are visibly dirty or have been stored for a long time.

These little faces were for my neighbor. She collects eleves. She orders her faces from her country but pays a fortune just to have them sent to her. It was the price of 2 of these faces. So I bought her these that had more and she was besided herself. She made bodies for them. Needless to say she is now going to be a new Customer for this seller. I guess I'll be buying these again because she tought me how she makes them and together we'll be selling them at the church craft fair. Isn't this something. This is how I look at things. This seller makes these faces and my neighbor adds a body to them and then they get sold to people who will enjoy what this seller started. We also put up a board with the seller's name and information so they can look her up on Etsy and buy some. I highly recommend this amazing seller.
