So many people have (or know someone who has) a glass insulator (or two, or ten) sitting around on their windowsill or desk, collecting dust. Some people even have a whole box or milk crate full of these in their basement or attic. If you've ever wanted that insulator to be more than just a paperweight, this is exactly what you need. Available exclusively in my Etsy shop, is the quickest and easiest way to turn that paperweight into a beautiful and functional pipe lamp in just seconds, with NO DRILLING or modification of the insulator needed! Makes a great accent light, reading light, or night light. And it's HALF the cost of other competing/similar solutions.

There are many finished glass insulator pipe lamps here on Etsy that are being sold for $160 to $180 or more. There are also some battery-powered light bases out there, but this pipe lamp base is a much better looking, plug-in solution that's very affordable. Simply thread your insulator (only clear or see-through insulators are recommended; not for use with ceramic or porcelain insulators) onto the top of this pre-made, pre-lit lamp base, plug the 4-1/2 foot (54") cloth-covered round cord into a polarized outlet, and use the inline on/off switch to turn on the built-in LED bulb inside. Back in the day, a threaded wooden post held these insulators onto homes, buildings, and telephone poles. On this lamp, a special custom-made see-through threaded post holds your insulator securely in place while allowing light to shine through, without having to make any modifications to the insulator whatsoever (no drilling!) - which means you can easily swap it out with a different color or style insulator any time you'd like.

With a typical insulator added, this lamp will stand approx. 7" tall. It is made from industrial black iron pipe and fittings. The base is 3" in diameter, with heavy duty felt padding on the bottom to protect your furniture. The included energy efficient LED bulb is a 1.5W G4 Bi-pin base, warm white (2700K) LED bulb (160 lumens) which costs less than 50¢ a year to operate¹.

DIMMING:
An external (third-party) plug-in dimmer can be added, if desired (one is not included). I tried the lamp with a typical plug-in touch dimmer module, and was only able to get "medium" and "high" settings with it, so a plug-in slide dimmer will probably give you better results.

Compatible only with 125VAC power outlets. Weighs just over one pound (not including your insulator). The included power cord is 54" (4-1/2 feet) but if you want or need a longer power cord, they are available through custom order (message me for details).
