This is the pdf pattern for the crochet Dash Bag, a stretchy, sturdy and roomy bag for your every day activities. It is around the same size as a regular tote bag but it has one thick handle instead of two. The stitches used create a “dashed” pattern, hence the name. :) Note that this pattern is in ENGLISH.

This pattern is suitable for intermediate level crocheters or adventurous beginners wanting to challenge themselves. Single crochets and slip stitches are used for the majority of the bag while the strap that goes all the way around the bag is made using the tunisian crochet simple stitch. Everything is crocheted in one single piece and there’s only a bit of seaming at the very end to bring it all together.

SIZING
- This bag is one size only but by making more/less rows/stitches you can easily modify the size.
- In the last photo you can see two measurements: A = 52 cm (20.5 in), B = 42 cm (16.5 in)
- The bag will stretch out a little over time as well

MATERIALS USED
- Crochet hook 4.5 and 4.0 mm (or hook needed to obtain gauge)
- DK weight cotton or cotton blend yarn
- Approximately 360 m of color A (main color+strap) and 215 m of color B
- I used Petunia by Rauma (110 m/50 g)
- Other suggestions are: Friends Cotton 8/6 by Hobbii, Cotton Sprout by Premier Yarns, Belle by Drops
- Yarn needle/Darning needle
- Measuring tape

- Scissors

GAUGE
- 10*10 cm (4*4 inches) = 18 stitches * 20 rows
- The gauge swatch is made using the "seed slip stitch back loop only" stitch, which is explained in text and video in the pattern

DIFFICULTY
- 2.5/5
- The stitch combo used is very simple but you'll need to keep track of your increases and decreases. The Tunisian crochet simple stitch is used for the strap which is a very easy and fun stitch (and you can use a regular crochet hook), but if it's your first time doing Tunisian crochet you might want to practice a little first :)
