What is homespun fabric?

Homespun is a lightweight fabric made from fine cotton yarns. Historically, it began as a coarse, loosely woven textile crafted from yarn spun at home—hence the name homespun. Modern homespun retains that traditional, handcrafted look, with characteristic features such as subtle color variations, slight irregularities, and an intentionally imperfect finish. It has no distinct front or back, and patterns are created by weaving dyed threads rather than printing. These natural variations are not flaws—they're part of the authentic charm and rustic character that define true homespun fabric.

CARE: Gently hand-wash or machine-wash in cold water. Tumble dry on low until slightly damp, or line dry. Use a medium steam iron as needed. Tree skirts and lined curtains should be spot cleaned only. For the best appearance, steam-iron before use and after washing.

Swatches are free! Please provide me with your name, address, and the names/numbers of the fabrics you'd like to see. If you're trying to coordinate with your existing home décor, I highly recommend ordering fabric swatches first. Colors may appear slightly different depending on your screen settings, so seeing the fabric in person helps ensure the best match. Swatches also let you check the texture, thickness, and pattern scale before placing a full order. Each swatch is generously sized to give you a clear sense of the fabric’s color and weight—making your decision easier and more confident. Swatches will be sent USPS First Class in a letter-sized envelope without tracking. I will let you know when they have been mailed.

Tree skirt dimensions refer to the total diameter—measured from outer edge to outer edge, including the center hole. To choose the right size, base your measurement on the full width of the tree’s bottom branches, and account for the height and angle of your tree stand. How to Measure: Step-by-Step Place the end of a measuring tape at the center of the tree trunk or post. Extend the tape diagonally to reach the tip of the widest bottom branch. Multiply the number by 2 to get the approximate tree skirt diameter. Round up or down based on your preference for coverage. Example: If your tree’s bottom branches extend 25 inches from the center, and the tree stand elevates the tree slightly, a 30-inch tree skirt provides better coverage.

Length (Top to Bottom): Measure from the top of the curtain rod down to where you want the curtain to fall. Note: Length is measured with the curtain lying flat, from the top of the rod pocket to the bottom edge. The 1-inch header is not included. Width (Left to Right): For a full, gathered look, your curtain panels should be 1.5 to 2 times wider than your window or curtain rod. For a more tailored appearance, less fullness is acceptable. The listed width is the combined width of both panels. Example: 30" wide tiers = 60" total width and 40" wide tiers = 80" total width For a balanced look, the valance width should match the tiers' width. Example: A 60" W valance pairs with 30" W tiers (60" total).

Table Runner Measuring

As a general rule, your table runner should be about one-third the width of your table and hang over each end by 6 to 10 inches. For example, if your table is 42 inches wide and 60 inches long, a suitable table runner would be approximately 14 inches wide and 72 to 80 inches long.

Pillow Cover Measuring

Choose a pillow cover size that matches the dimensions of your insert. How to measure: Use a fabric measuring tape to measure from seam to seam across the center of the pillow—first the width, then the length. If you don’t have a fabric tape, use a piece of string and then compare it against a yardstick or metal tape measure.

Custom sizes can be provided upon request. To initiate this process, I require the item's width and length, choice of fabric, and any other relevant information. Please read my measuring instructions.

➤ Care Instructions
Machine wash on a gentle cycle or hand wash in cold water.

Tumble dry on low heat until just slightly damp, or line dry.

Use a medium steam iron as needed to crisp up the edges.

➤ Sizing & Fit Guide
To achieve a full, plump, designer look, we recommend choosing the size that matches your pillow insert dimensions (e.g., use an 18"x18" cover for an 18"x18" insert).

Available Sizes:

Square: 12", 14", 16", 18", 20", 22", 24"

Accent: Euro Sham & Lumbar sizes available in the dropdown menu

How to Measure Your Insert:

Use a flexible fabric measuring tape.

Measure flat across the center of the pillow, pulling tight from seam to seam.

No fabric tape? Use a piece of string to measure, then hold it against a standard ruler or metal tape measure.

✂️ Need a Custom Size? I love custom orders! If you don't see your specific dimensions in the dropdown menu, send me a message with your measurements for a personalized quote.

💡 Artisan Tip: If you are ordering multiple covers for the same room, we highly recommend purchasing them together. Because our textiles are genuinely woven, slight variations in shade and pattern scale can naturally occur between different fabric bolts.

➤ Order Fabric Swatches First
Unsure about the exact color match or texture? Be 100% confident in your purchase! Screen settings can alter colors, so we always suggest holding the fabric in your hands first to evaluate the weave, weight, and pattern scale.
