Beautiful polished veined specimen of green VARISCITE is from the the Woodlands Station, near Mount Augustus, in the Gascoyne Region of Western Australia. This rare Variscite specimen occurs in Sedimentary rocks with an age of approximately 1.5 Billion years old or Precambian Age. A rare and unique feature of the Variscite from this locality is the occurrence of Native Gold as inclusions. It is difficult to see with the naked eye except in some of the darker green specimens. *I searched this specimen carefully for the Gold to no avail!* The mineral Variscite is closely related to another common Phosphate mineral called Turquoise! PLEASE SEE VIDEO & ALL TEN PHOTOS! Variscite specimen MEASURES 1 5/8 inches long OR 41 millimeters long X 1 1/8 inch wide OR 28 mm wide X up to 1/2 inch thick OR up to 13 mm thick.
