What is a Nixie Watch, and what makes it special?

The Nixie Watch, often referred to as the "nixie" wristwatch, is a unique and self-made timepiece featuring authentic Soviet Nixie tubes IN-16 and other tubes of that era. These watches are a fusion of retro charm and modern design, offering a distinct visual appeal. They are meticulously designed for everyday wear, ensuring they are light, compact, and built to last.

How does the Nixie Tube Watch display the time?

Depending on model Nixie Watch displays the time by pressing a button or by motion sensor. Two-tube versions of watches show the hour, and after 1.5 seconds, it displays the minutes. Additionally, they can display the date, providing you with all the essential information in a compact format. The time setting process is straightforward and is explained in detail in the attached instruction manual.

What is the battery life of the Nixie Watch?

All our watches are equipped with built-in rechargeable lithium-polymer batteries with a capacity of 200-250 mAh. On average, it can withstand approximately 10-15 days of usage and remains functional for up to two months in standby mode.

What is the Sapphire and Mineral glass difference?

Sapphire glass is scratch resistant and has a hardness of around 2000 HV – twice as much as mineral glass. Sapphire glass can therefore only be scratched by a few materials, including real diamonds with 4,500 to 10,000 HV. For comparison: stainless steel comes to about 220 HV.

What is the Motion Sensor?

This is a special digital sensor that we install in some models of our watches, it allows you to display the time by tilting the wrist without pressing a button.

How can I choose the time format in a watch?

You can select the 12 or 24 option when ordering the clock, this means to the time format in 12 (0-12) or 24 (0-24) format.

Splash-resistant protection of a watch, what does this mean?

This means you can use the watch in the rain or wash your hands without removing the watch from the wrist;

How long do Nixie Tubes last, do they burn out?

The tubes do not burn out, we provide a lifetime warranty on the lamps and replace them free if they stop working. The operating life of the lamps is very long and amounts to tens of thousands of hours of continuous display.

How can I charge the Nixie Watch, and how long does it take to charge?

You can charge the Nixie Watch by USB using the included USB charging cable. Simply connect it to your computer system or a 5V DC power adapter with a USB output. The watches feature an automatic indication of the end of the charging process – a lamp lights up when the battery is charging and goes out when the process is complete. A full charge takes about 50 minutes, depending on the model.
