Retired DIYer. The rack is simple. It is made of 6 pieces of what looks like birch? wood and a plywood back. The joints are glued, perhaps with dowels or biscuits, just butt joints. The ends of the vertical sides were not sanded to be flush with the bottom and top shelves but they are not off by much. The "rods" are flexible and the ends simply insert into holes drilled in the vertical boards on each side. When the rods are stretched too far they pull out of the holes but can be put right back in. The Early American stain is lighter than what I have used before. If one uses supplied anchors for plaster board and hangs the rack on the wall with the mounting brackets the rack will be slightly away from the wall at the top. I removed the brackets and screwed the rack to studs thru the back. Not bad and not the best IMO.

This shelf is the perfect dimension for this small wall space, and the perfect depth that still allows the cabinet to open freely. I’m happy to have my most used spices near my prep space in the kitchen. Stain is rich. Feels sturdy. Hardware for hanging was provided and also good quality.
