Dachshund sweater in a hand-dyed 70% wool blend cable knit — the handmade WOOLLY WEENS Dachshund Sweater by Hendricks & Maple. Longer in the body, deeper in the chest and sleeveless for low-to-the-ground sausage dogs. In Hazelnut, Chilli and Eucalyptus, sizes XXS/XS, XS/S and S/M, for Miniature and Standard Dachshunds.

They hand dye the yarn and hand knit each chunky cable knit jumper, beautifully soft and made to keep your Doxie warm and stylish all winter. A warm Doxie is a happy Doxie!

THE SWEATER
• Hand knitted and hand dyed in a soft 70% wool blend
• Chunky cable knit with plenty of stretch
• Shaped for Dachshunds: longer body, deeper chest
• NO SLEEVES, just arm cuffs, so short legs and being low to the ground are no problem. And if your dog's body fits but their legs are long, leg length doesn't matter either
• No leash hole. Leash holes damage the knit and wear out the sweater, so you'll need an adjustable harness over the top
• Each one is individually handmade, so small variations are normal
• Knitted flat and stitched up one side, so there's a seam from neck to edge with the yarn tails neatly tucked inside. That's a hallmark of handmade, not a fault

• XXS/XS — very small and most Miniature Dachshunds
• XS/S — bigger Miniature Dachshunds

HOW TO MEASURE
• Neck — around the neck
• Chest — just behind the front legs, at the widest point
• Lengths — measure from where the neck cuff will sit (higher on the neck than a collar) to where you want the sweater to end
Neck measurements in the chart are UNSTRETCHED (laid flat), so the knit will comfortably expand beyond them. The front and back lengths INCLUDE the neck cuff. If you're between sizes, go up. Stretchy knits are forgiving.
Boys: check the FRONT length carefully, so it isn't too long for them to wee without wetting it.

HARNESS AND COLLAR TIP
All Hendricks and Maple harnesses adjust at both the neck and chest, so they fit over a chunky knit. We find most Dachshunds fit our size M harnesses, which are fully adjustable, have room around the armpits for freedom of movement, are machine washable and (on most of our ranges) lined with breathable mesh. CARE
• Machine wash on a cold, gentle wool cycle with a wool detergent, with like colours
• Lay flat to dry
• Do not tumble dry, do not bleach

A NOTE ON POSTAGE

We use Australia Post for all our shipping and send worldwide. Every order is packaged beautifully with no prices on the items, so it’s ready to send straight to someone as a gift. All parcels are tracked and require your email address on the documentation.

When your international parcel arrives in your country, it’s handed over to your country’s postal service for delivery in most countries, once it has cleared customs. Most orders leave Australia and arrive in their destination country around 5 days after ordering; the remaining delivery time is taken by your own customs and local postal service. The average delivery time from ordering to receipt is around 2–3 weeks for most countries.

IF YOU ARE IN AUSTRALIA
• Parcel Post: 2–4 business days within NSW, 3–6 business days to other states.
• Express Post (Australia only): 1–2 business days within NSW, 1–3 business days interstate.

CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS & EXCHANGES

ORDER CANCELLATIONS
We aim to dispatch your order the same day, so if it has already shipped — or, for international orders, if we’ve already created the shipping label and paid the taxes and duties — we’re unable to cancel it. If you need to cancel, please contact us straight away.

REFUNDS & EXCHANGES
We don’t offer change-of-mind refunds, and one-size-only items can’t be refunded or exchanged.

If you’ve ordered the wrong size and would like to exchange it for another size, that’s no problem — within Australia it’s easy, you simply cover the return postage. On Etsy, the only way to exchange is to re-purchase the item in the size you need (it’s sent out as its own separate order), then return the incorrect size to us. Please contact us for a return address and send us the tracking number of your return — we’re not able to cover return shipping, within Australia or internationally. As long as the item comes back to us unworn, undamaged and re-saleable, we’ll refund the cost of that item through Etsy (the item cost only — we can’t refund shipping, tariffs or duties).

For international orders, please weigh this up before returning: with return postage and the charges that can’t be refunded, you won’t get the full price back, so it may not be worthwhile — sometimes it’s better to resell the item or gift it to someone. We only accept a return for exchange if the item comes back in re-saleable condition — that is, unworn, undamaged and unused (trying it on is fine).

Please measure your pet carefully — pet sizing isn’t standardised, so a size Small in one brand or product is not the same as a Small in another brand, or even another product from the same store. And please don’t order a “Small” just because your pet’s breed is considered a small breed — it doesn’t work like that. You must measure your pet and use their measurements against each product’s size chart to work out the correct size. All our listings show the size charts, so you can measure accurately and avoid incorrect-size issues.

OUR HANDMADE & KNITTED ITEMS
Many of our pieces — including our knitted sweaters — are genuinely handmade, and handmade items have natural characteristics that machine-made ones don’t. On our knits especially, you’ll see yarn tails (the ends of the wool) tucked and woven into the inside seams and around the neck. This is deliberate, correct hand-finishing — it’s how a handmade knit is completed, it sits on the inside of the garment, and it’s completely normal. Please don’t pull or unpick these ends, as that will damage the piece. Characteristics like this are part of the charm of a handmade product and are not faults, so they aren’t grounds for a faulty-item return. If you haven’t bought handmade knitwear before and you’re unsure about anything, please reach out and ask — we’re always happy to explain how our pieces are made.

Every order is checked and packed by me personally, so nothing leaves us faulty — but if an item develops a genuine fault, please contact us and we’ll make it right.
