Whitby Jet Pendant Sterling Silver Jet is the product of high-pressure decomposition of wood from millions of years ago. The Jet found at Whitby, North Yorkshire, UK, is approx. 182 million years old and is formed from a species of tree similar to the Monkey Puzzle tree. This lovely piece has been cabochon cut and highly polished then mounted in sterling silver. It measures approx. 3.3 cms x 1.7 cms x 0.5 cms, with the over all length of the pendant including the bail being 4.5 cms.
