Antique Jewelry Box/Casket Art Nouveau by W.B. Mfg. Co. – Gilded Metal Trinket Box, Floral Vanity Box, Early 1900s Vintage Decor

This antique Art Nouveau jewelry casket was made by W.B. Mfg. Co. (Weidlich Brothers Manufacturing Company) of Bridgeport, Connecticut, circa early 1900s.

Unlike most examples made from spelter, this one reveals a solid copper base beneath its original gilded finish — visible along the feet and high points. The box features graceful floral scrollwork, flowing curves, and a hinged lid, all hallmarks of the Art Nouveau style.

The gilding has worn beautifully over time, allowing the warm copper tones to show through, giving the piece a rich, time-softened patina. The hinge works smoothly, and the interior retains its original dark enamel coating.

A finely made and rare copper-bodied example of early American Art Nouveau metalwork — both decorative and functional.
