What is your policy on customs and import taxes?

Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. AARVEN is not responsible for delays due to customs. Buyers outside of the UK may need to pay customs fees or duties, which vary from country to country. Also, customs can sometimes delay delivery by many days. If customs fees go unpaid, the package will be destroyed and we will not be able to provide a refund.

Will the new US tariffs affect my order from AARVEN?

Due to recent changes in United States trade regulations, new tariffs are now being applied to goods imported into the US from August 29th 2025. As a buyer purchasing from AARVEN, you can rest assured that all tariffs and duties will be covered by us (for orders purchased from 12th September onwards). This means no surprise charges once your package reaches the US. We're also offering free shipping to our US customers - you can shop all available products under the "FREE US Shipping" tab on our shopfront.

WHO MADE YOUR BRASS DOOR KNOCKER?
We met George (pictured) in 2018 during our first visit to Ghana. A talented brass caster himself, George heads up a group of artisans who make our beautiful recycled brass candle holders, hooks, knobs, and knockers. He is based in the capital of the Ashanti Region, Kumasi.

CARE
Polish your solid brass knocker using Brasso (always follow the instructions on the bottle), or by covering half a lemon with salt and rubbing it onto the knocker. Rinse well and dry with a soft cloth.
