Title: Amethyst

Amethyst is a famous Art Nouveau lithograph by the Czech artist Alphonse Mucha, created in 1900. It is one of four works in his acclaimed "The Precious Stones" series, where each panel features a woman personifying a specific gemstone.

The work depicts an elegant female figure in a flowing purple gown, surrounded by floral motifs. The design is characteristic of Mucha's Art Nouveau style, which is known for its sinuous curves, natural forms, and a harmonious use of colour that echoes the central gemstone.

Mucha designed the composition with the female figure dominating the upper part, while a realistically drawn flower (likely irises, given the colour scheme) features in the lower part.
