Gift wrapping and packaging

For most items I use new polymailers to ship your embroidered item. For large items or multiples I use clean, recycled boxes. I will include a gift receipt and ship directly to your recipient, if you choose this option at checkout. At this time, I am unable to offer gift wrapping.

Custom and personalized orders

The embroidered quilts,pillows, and quilt blocks I offer are custom-made and personalized. This means I will need YOUR APPROVAL for each design you wish embroidered on the item. Please check the Etsy convo system and/or your email account for this proof. Proofs of the design will be emailed within 48 hours, and I will not begin stitching without your approval. If you do not approve it, I will attempt to contact you at least three times, and will even extend the shipping time if necessary. However, if I do not receive an approval of the proof, I will either stitch the design using the information you provided, or cancel and refund your order, using my best judgement.

The embroidered baby blankets are machine washable, cold, delicate cycle. You will have the best results if you hang them to dry. The tote bags may be spot-cleaned.

The unique customization process

Every quilt, pillow, and quilt block in my shop is a custom order. This means that I'll work with you to create the perfect design, in the perfect colors, for your unique situation. Once you place your order and provide the personalized/customized details, I'll create a proof (within 48 hours - usually much sooner) and send it to you via the Etsy conversation system and/or your personal email. Most times we'll go back and forth, adjusting colors, fonts, and placement to get the design just right. I never mind doing this, trying out different combinations. I want every client to be delighted with the custom embroidery we create together.

What does the back of the quilt look like? Where can the design be placed? How is the stitching finished?

The baby quilts I use are already quilted with a 3x4 grid of medallions (similar to a wholecloth quilt). My designs can be stitched on any of the 12 medallions, although I most commonly stitch them on one of the corners, on the diagonal. There isn't a true "center" to the quilt because of the 3x4 grid layout. Contact me for specifics as to design placement. The threads on the back are also trimmed to within 1/4 inch of the design. They cannot be trimmed any closer without risking the integrity of the stitching.

Why does the proof not look exactly like the photograph in the listing?

Your design will look more like the photograph in the listing than like the proof. The proof is a digital approximation of what the actual stitch out will look like. Even the photograph isn't exact. Remember that you're looking at both of them on a computer or a device that may have a different color calibration than my computer. So you have the quilt in real life (what you'll see in person), a photograph of that same design (so one step removed but still an actual stitching), and then a digital proof of your specific design (which is now TWO steps removed from the real thing). It's the best I can do to show you what your design, with your information, will look like. I provide the proof so that you can correct any errors you find.

Why would I want to use BX files? I’m used to working with stitch based fonts (in PES or DST formats, for example).

Especially if you're new to embroidery, I'd definitely recommend learning to use BX files. They make working with any text so much easier! The software is free, and is called Embrilliance Express. The free version only works with BX files for typing words or monograms. With stitch-based files, you'd need to bring each letter into your software as an individual design, combine the designs, and place each letter in the right position. With BX files, you just use your keyboard to type out the text you want to use, and the software has easy tools for adjusting the spacing, changing the size, and even arching or curving the letters. How do I install/use this native BX font?

You can double click the single BX installer file, or drag-and-drop it into Embrilliance. The program will install for you. The PDF file that is included explains how to access all the extras with this font. All of this will work even if you are only using the free Embrilliance Express! This is a native BX file, so you only need one file, not one for each size. You can resize the letters yourself as much as you need, and Embrilliance will do the adjustments for you. It's why native BX fonts are so popular.

Why is there only ONE BX font in this download?

This is a native BX font, just like the built in fonts that come with Embrilliance (like the “Block” font). You only need one size because you can resize it within Embrilliance to whatever size you need. Obviously you’ll need to do a test sew if you resize outside of the parameters that I’ve set.

How can I add my own text to this template design?

You will need embroidery software in order to add your own text.
