This listing is for your choice of four different yarn types, handpainted to order, in the colorway Painted Desert. Each skein will be 4 oz. The colors used are Warm Gray, Raspberry, Fuchsia, Coral, Pagoda Red, Soft Orange. You may order as many skeins as you like. However, please allow 10-14 days for your order to be fulfilled. Available fiber types are 8/2 tencel, 8/2 rayon, 12/2 tencel, and 1450 yards per pound rayon chenille.

8/2 Tencel: Tencel yarn runs 3360 yards per pound. A 4 oz skein will have 840 yards and is fine for setts ranging from 15 to 24 ends per inch on the loom. Tencel is fantastic as a warp and would be great combined with solid colors. Use 8/2 cotton or tencel for weft in plain weave, twills or satins. This yarn is easy to work with, weaves up beautifully, and the fabric you make gets softer and softer with use. The resulting fabric will have a fabulous sheen. It is hand washable and I recommend a good steam ironing when dry.

8/2 Rayon: Rayon is a cellulose fiber, like cotton or tencel, and 8/2 works well sett at 24 ends per inch for most projects. Like 8/2 tencel, it runs 3360 yards per pound. A 4 oz. skein will have 840 yards. It has a soft hand but is very strong for warps. Rayon is hand washable and dries quickly on the line. Iron with a pressing cloth at a medium setting. Rayon has a lovely drape and sheen!

12/2 Tencel: 12/2 tencel runs 5040 yards per pound, and a 4 oz. skein will have 1260 yards. It should be sett from 20-30 ends per inch.

1450 yards per pound Rayon Chenille: Rayon Chenille is easy to work with and finishes to a soft, velvety texture. By itself, it should be sett at 16 ends per inch. After wet finishing and spinning dry, it should be placed in a medium hot dryer, and tumble dried until completely dry. The transformation is magic!

FYI: at 93-94" around, my hand painted skeins of yarn may not fit some swifts or yarn winders. If you are in doubt, please request your skeins wound to yarn cakes. No extra charge!
