Popular in Japan since the 16th century, Konpeitō is a traditional Japanese sugar candy with a distinctive star-like shape covered in small bumps or "horns." It's made by repeatedly coating a sugar core with coloured sugar syrup over many days, requiring constant rotation in large pans.

Offered in 12 flavourful varieties, primarily fruit-based. Flavoured using natural food powders that are gentle on the body, without artificial fragrances or colourings. The Japanese paper packaging, themed around each flavour, features traditional Japanese colours. A gift that delights both the eyes and palate.

Irohaya's original brand of flavoured Konpeitō (sugar candy). These small, beautifully coloured Konpeitō candies are crafted by artisans over a 14-day period. The timing and amount of syrup application, temperature, rotation speed of the pan; each grain is a crystallisation of skill and technique. With over 80 years of Konpeitō-making tradition, they are crafted with heartfelt attention.

The lengthy process of nurturing Konpeitō symbolises various meanings such as "marital harmony" and "prosperity of descendants," while the horn-like protrusions on the surface are said to ward off demons, representing "good health and longevity." Konpeitō has long been considered an auspicious gift, even used in Imperial family celebrations.
