A wonderful book packed with illustrations, history and folklore on a number of history's most striking mythical beasts. This anthology explores the relationships between men and beasts and the folkloric quality of these creatures. There are chapters on - dragons, unicorns, Griffins and Sphinxes with the final chapter covering half-human creatures including mermaids.
CONDITION
I have four available. All are in good+ condition. One has a small ownership sticker - the others are clean. All come complete with dust jackets. Tight binding, clean and square. I don't think any copy has been more than flipped through.
A chunky book with 192 pages and measures 9" X 6" ins approx (22.5cm X 15.5cm). Edited by John Cherry, published by the British Museum Press in 1995.
