This is my newly designed solid Titanium walking cane manufactured from 6 AI-4V Grade 5 titanium, made entirely on CNC (computer numerical control) machines that are programmed to perform the highest quality machining possible. It is an extremely strong work-of-art walking tool that will last a lifetime. This is NOT a hollow tube and certainly not just a polished titanium bar made to look like a cane. This is a real and very professionally made Titanium cane that is tapered the entire length of the cane, and has two sections of machined grooves cut into the shaft for gripping, and it has a very special ball handle designed for comfort and grip changes. It also has a hole machined into the handle for attaching a wrist cord or strap, a design much needed on many canes. It is machine cut from solid Grade 5 Titanium bar stock and polished to perfection. It's the best you will find anywhere, certain to be an heirloom.

The handle is a 1+3/4 inch diameter solid ball that fits comfortably in your palm while your ring and middle fingers slide into the smooth groove below the ball. Your hand actually locks on to the ball forming a sturdy and very comfortable grip. And that's not all:

It has my classic taper the entire length of the shaft. I was told I was crazy if I incorporated such an expensive process, especially with the two sections of shallow grip grooves following the taper, each one reducing in diameter as the taper gets narrower. Believe me, this is not an easy process to setup and perform with Grade 5-6AI-4V solid titanium bar stock. The taper enhances the appearance of the titanium cane ten-fold over a plain non-tapered cane, plus the taper allowed me to keep the cane weight right at 35 ounces, measuring 36 inches in length. It tapers from 3/4 of an inch diameter at the top of the shaft to 1/2 inch diameter at the bottom of the shaft. The handle unscrews from the shaft just like all of my past solid aluminum canes.

As of now, there will be no other lengths available and I will not cut your cane. If you decide to cut it, please consider having it done by a machine shop with a laser cutter, or some other device that will professionally cut titanium. Speaking from fourteen years of experience designing and selling canes, 36 inches is by far the most used and most popular length. More lengths might be made in the future, and possibly other handles.

The surface finish is highly polished natural titanium. It is not anodized or coated, and it is absolutely beautiful. Titanium doesn't scratch as easily as other metals, but it is possible to scratch it. It's virtually indestructible. I believe this is the only Solid Titanium Walking Cane that you will find anywhere. It's a remarkable tool that is reasonably priced according to the titanium material and work performed for each individual shaft and handle.

Please Note: using a Ball Handle is quite different than using a T or C style handle. If you own a ball handle cane, you are probably aware there are about six different ways you can grip a ball cane handle, opposed to other handles which are gripped only a couple of ways. The way I have designed this Titanium ball handle cane with the smooth groove below the ball makes the "between the fingers" grip a lot more comfortable. If you've never used a ball handle cane, I highly recommend attaching a wrist strap to the strap hole in the handle. I do not sell wrist straps. There are many types available.

This cane is built with such intention and artistry that it deserves to be carried by someone who will appreciate the thinking which is apparent in every machined ridge—and Ted Jotte is just such an artist. My new Solid Titanium Cane arrived quickly, last night in fact by UPS, and I saw right away that it was packaged with nearly as much precision as that with which it was made. As you can see in the attached photo, this cane is a beautiful object. The brushed titanium finish gives it that cool, understated industrial look that elevates it well beyond being merely functional, although it surely is functional indeed, to piece one might imagine to appear from some realistic future—perhaps one envisioned by Isaac Asimov, one of the greatest authors of our age.

When I designed them and turned the plans over to the milling experts I instructed them to create a titanium heirloom dual-purpose cane that is capable of lasting several generations.
