Ernst's notes:
Since I can remember my father had a wooden pen holder on his desk, something my mother gave him long ago. When I purchased the 19th century oak beam and worked out what I would make from it, his pen holder came to mind and I decided to make my own version. This unique pen holder / pencil holder was made from a reclaimed French oak beam out of the 19th century. The beam for this particular piece was collected from an old field barn. I love the calm and presence that this piece conveys and envision that it will bring a calm grounded moment to an otherwise busy day.
