Highlights
Immerse yourself in the history of botany with this magnificent original edition of "L'Illustration Horticole, Journal Spécial des Serres et des Jardins" dating from 1859.
This exquisite volume, the sixth in the series, is a treasure for gardening enthusiasts, collectors of antique books, and lovers of floral art. It was edited by G.H. Lemaire and Ambroise Verschaffelt, leading figures in horticulture of the time.
Discover a world of botanical splendor through its 38 meticulously detailed color plates, as well as black and white illustrations. Each illustration is a work of art, capturing the beauty and diversity of flowers and plants cultivated in the 19th century, offering a fascinating glimpse into the greenhouses and gardens of yesteryear. The book's generous dimensions, 26 x 18 cm, showcase the exquisite detail of the engravings.
Despite its venerable age, this book is in excellent overall condition, with only a few discreet foxing spots that attest to its authenticity and its journey through time. It is a perfect example of Second Empire botanical publishing and illustration.
Ideal for decorating a library, an office, or as a centerpiece in a collection. The boards can also be framed individually to create a unique and elegant wall display. An exceptional gift for any lover of plants, history, or art.
