Vintage Wassily Kandinsky Ceramic Vase from the Museum Company Store, Mid Century Abstract Geometric Vase

This large ceramic vase, measuring over 12" tall, is decorated with an abstract composition inspired by the work of Wassily Kandinsky, produced by The Museum Company, and imported from Italy. The design features the geometric elements characteristic of Kandinsky's Compositions series - grids, arcs, triangles, and sweeping lines in red, yellow, gray, and black against a cream textured background on both sides. Unsigned but retains the original Museum Company paper insert with titem numbers 400-41221 and 400-41230 (with Wassily spelled with a V).

"Vassily Kandinsky (Russian, 1866-1944) compared each element on his canvas to a sound in a symphony. Through the orchestration of color, line and shape, he believed that art couid have the power of music. Ranking his works according to their level of "musical" complexity, he named them Impressions, Improvisations and Compositions. While loosely structured, the works had a clear and deliberate organization. Against grid-like lines, he often mapped webs of ovals, triangles and squares. He believed such forms came into existence in the same manner as the cosmos. Through a series of catastrophes, order was produced from chaos. For him, the creation of a work of art was the creation of the world. Imported from Italy. A Museum Company exclusive."

CONDITION: The vase is in good vintage condition with light wear and some scuffing, no chips or cracks. Please inspect photos as there is a lot of texture on the surface.

MEASUREMENTS: 12 1/4" in height by 8" diameter at its widest. The opening is 4 1/4" x 2 7/8".
