My pattern design process balances complexity of design and colour blending with ease of stitching. You’ll find quite a lot of confetti in these patterns, but often with only two or three colours in a given 10x10 square. In these areas, I recommend starting with colours of only a few stitches, and working up to those with the most stitches.

Another aspect of my design process is a minimal use of specialty threads or stitches. Most of my patterns use the main DMC cotton colours, in full stitches only. Occasionally, Light Effects, Étoile, or Satin flosses, amongst others, may be included. None of these flosses will be central to the design itself, and can be substituted for the cotton equivalents.

Because of the size of many of my patterns, I only stitch them once while testing the pattern. This may result in an example photo that does not precisely match the pattern. I may make changes, large and small, as I go. The stitched example image is included in the listing and the pattern itself to illustrate the overall design. I also include an image generated by my software which will show the design more accurately, although the colours themselves may not represent the actual floss colours.

My patterns are completely AI-free. I have hand-drawn all of the art patterns on my shop, sometimes with the aid of stock images to allow me to skip the initial sketch, which often takes the longest for me to do. Patterns which have been converted from photos are done with my own photographs.

The floss lists on my patterns have a 50% waste allowance. This is to account for mistakes and stitching styles that may cause you to use more thread than you expect to. It is recommended that you buy all the floss you need at once, to make sure you do not run into dye lot issues part way through.
