Spectacular 1800s Georgian  jewel. A larger than most beauty with a substantial weight of 19 Grams. A tasteful touch and reminder of an era  that  came into existence over three hundred years ago, placing this precious jewel over two hundred years old.

Please note that one small round stone at top has a crack.

Shimmering and glistening, the cool wine hue of the Garnets are rich against the warm luminous 14K Gold.
Each gem is set in crimped cut down collets with closed foiled back settings. The domed closed backs are smooth and appealing. No dings, no dents. A rich heirloom treasure.
The large bail is just extra, and it is rarely ever seen on any similar piece. It is set with three additional Garnets adding to the overall aesthetics of this pendant.

The technique of using foil and closed-back settings was used to brighten diamonds and intensify the color of colored gemstones like garnets during the 1800s. The foiling created a glittering, vibrant effect, especially under candlelight, which was the main source during that era.
The craftsmanship of this period is unparalleled.
This is a particularly striking statement piece with a historical feel and significance. It most vibrant with a luxurious and sparkling appeal when worn.
