Highlights

A familiar Renaissance composition reinterpreted through the mass, balance, and geometry of sumo. This design echoes classical anatomical studies while shifting the focus from idealized proportion to grounded power and symmetry, rendered in a warm, sketch-like tone that feels archival rather than flashy.

The illustration plays with the visual language of old notebooks, marginal notes, and hand-drawn studies, blending Western art history with Japanese cultural imagery. The result sits somewhere between parody and homage, treating sumo not as spectacle but as form, volume, and structure.
