Saint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows (1838–1862) was a young Italian Passionist known for his gentle joy, deep humility, and intense love for God and the Virgin Mary. Entering religious life as a teenager, he embraced prayer, silence, and sacrifice with remarkable serenity despite chronic illness. His devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows shaped his spirituality, teaching him to unite suffering with Christ’s Passion. Though he lived only 24 years, his simplicity, obedience, and trust in God inspired many. Today he is especially loved as a patron of youth, students, and those seeking purity of heart.
