The Mechanism: A sturdy hinged design with silver metal used for the hinge and clasp tongue for maximum durability.

Closure: Features a hidden push-clasp that clicks securely and a safety chain with an added (later-period) spring ring for total peace of mind.

During the late Victorian era, the Aesthetic Movement rebelled against the heavy, mourning-focused jewelry of the early 1800s. Designers turned to nature and Japanese-inspired geometry. The "Geometric Flower" on this bangle is a perfect example of this shift toward lighter, more decorative, and naturalistic themes.

🪙 Gold Filled vs. Pinchbeck
In the 19th century, "Gold Filled" jewelry was made by bonding a thick sheet of gold to a base metal. Unlike modern plating, this layer is thick enough to be etched without revealing the metal beneath. Pinchbeck (invented by Christopher Pinchbeck) was a specific alloy of copper and zinc that mimicked the look and weight of 18k gold so perfectly it became a favorite of travelers who didn't want to risk their "real" gold on the road.
