This German Houndskull Bascinet with Hinged Visor, dated to circa 1400–1410, is inspired by the historical example preserved in the Kunstammlungen der Veste Coburg (Inventory A.I.1). The distinctive elongated visor—commonly known as the “houndskull” or “pigface”—is a hallmark of late 14th- and early 15th-century German armor.

Handcrafted from durable steel, this bascinet features a functional hinged visor, accurate facial proportions, and a classic medieval profile suitable for reenactment, LARP, historical display, and collectors. The helmet pairs perfectly with a mail aventail and late medieval armor kits.

Features:
Historically inspired German Houndskull Bascinet
Hinged visor with authentic medieval form
Based on Coburg / Veste Kunstammlungen example
Suitable for reenactment and LARP use
Handcrafted steel medieval helmet
Ideal for 14th–15th century impressions

Perfect For:
Medieval reenactment groups
LARP characters and campaigns

Museum-style display

This houndskull bascinet helmet blends historical accuracy with craftsmanship, making it a striking and reliable piece for medieval enthusiasts.
