What's the story?
Ruth has left her homeland to return to her mother-in-law Naomi's homeland (Judah). When Naomi urged her to return to her home, Ruth declared, "Your people will be my people and your God my God". Ruth gathered food by gleaning in the fields Boaz owned. Boaz showed kindness to her, ate with her and she was full with leftovers. Boaz ensured she was treated well, even ensuring the workers left some extra for her. This scene shows Boaz's grace and mercy to welcome the foreigner to eat with him and ensure her safety.
