This statue depicts Barbelo, the primordial divine emanation in Gnostic tradition—an embodiment of wisdom, stillness, and sacred feminine presence. The figure stands in a calm, prayer-like posture, framed by a radiant circular halo and flowing robes with finely layered details that give the sculpture a serene, almost architectural rhythm.

Barbēlō (Greek: Βαρβηλώ)[1] refers to the first emanation of God in several forms of Gnostic cosmogony. Barbēlō is often depicted as a supreme female principle, the single passive antecedent of creation in its manifold. This figure is also variously referred to as 'Mother-Father' (hinting at her apparent androgyny), 'The Triple Androgynous Name', or 'Eternal Aeon'. So prominent was her place amongst some Gnostics that some schools were designated as Barbeliotae, Barbēlō worshippers or Barbēlō gnostics.

She is exquisite. Remarkable detail and the "silk white" color choice was perfect. She has a luminescence that makes her appear to shine on my altar. Kind of regretting not getting a larger size and seriously considering going back for an 8" statue. The shop owner was amazing to work with and communication flowed seamlessly. The statue was packed well and arrived in good time.
