Highlights
Our sheep and lamb hides are tanned right here at Red Queen Ranch using chemical and dye-free oak bark tannin and preserved with olive oil and egg yolks. The process starts with all-natural food-safe citric acid and livestock salt to "lock" the wool in place. The end result is suede-soft skin, and no discoloration of the wool. This hide is a solid warm cream color. You can choose a more fluffy look by combing the wool with a "slicker" pet brush, or go with a curly crimpy look by misting the wool with water and shaking it out, then letting it air dry. You can go back and forth depending on the look you want. Icelandic hides are wonderful for rugs, wall hangings, bed covers, chair covers, viking reenactment gatherings, product display, chic home decor, baby photography, boudoir photography, and pet beds which is what ours become, whether we like it or not :). These hides are made by me, and are one of a kind. Get yours while they last! Approximate size 35" x 22" with 6" wool length.
