Highlights
Up for sale is an antique 14K solid gold abalone and mother of pearl shell carved cameo ring. The ring is a size 5-3/4, and it weighs 2.22 grams/1.42 dwt.
The ring face measures 3/4" up and down by 9/16" side to side and is 1/4" deep including the setting. The ring band is 1.55mm wide and 0.45mm thick (very thin), measuring at the back of the band. The ring is stamped 14K twice as seen in the photos, but it has mostly worn away with time and use, along with any maker's mark.
The cameo appears and feels securely set and secured in the plain bezel and ornate braided setting. No dust or dirt in the carvings and the shell has no scratches, cracks, fissures, chips or missing pieces. The ring band has no warps, bends, breaks, cracks, visible damage or signs of repair or resizing when viewed under close inspection with a magnification loupe. Very pretty cameo ring!
