This is an undated antique edition of The Book of Poetry, published by the Presbyterian Board of Publishing. It has brown leather embossed covers with a geometric motif. The front cover is lettered in gold. The spine is embossed with a floral pattern detailed in gold with gold lettering. The book includes poetry with a Christian flavor from famous poets like Wordsworth, Milton, and Bryant. The book is illustrated with engravings of wood from original designs by Darley, Doepler, Oertel, and Schuessele. There are 256 pages.

The book is in good antique condition for its age and use. The covers have general wear with some staining, discoloration, and fraying to corners and edges. The gold lettering and detailing is still bright. The spines are still attached. It looks like the first blank and the last blank pages were cut out of the book. The pages are yellowed with some browning and foxing.

The book measures 8.25 by 5.75 inches. It is 1 inch thick.
