Krishna Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum), also known as Purple Holy Basil, is a deep purple-stemmed tulsi valued for its rich aroma, strong character, and its place in Indian homes, where it is traditionally grown for pooja, fragrance, vaastu, and presence. Leaves may show a mix of green and purple depending on light, which is natural for this cultivar. Well suited for container growing and home gardens.

Krishna Tulsi grows upright and becomes bushy when pruned regularly. Like most tulsi, it slows when nights cool and rebounds with warmth. Leaf color shifts with light exposure rather than remaining fixed.

If you are buying for pooja, please note that our tulsi is raised in Vaishnav tradition.

At Tulsi Grove, plants are grown in fresh, sterile, soilless media and maintained to promote strong root development and balanced structure rather than height. This results in a compact, well-rooted plant that establishes reliably after transplant.

What you'll receive:
One actively growing, healthy, well-rooted live plant shipped in a standard nursery container suitable for agricultural inspection and interstate transport. Decorative pots, seeds, fruits, flowers, blooms, dried plant material, baskets, rulers, and other display or photographic props shown in listing images are not included unless specifically stated.

Plants are shipped with a root zone of at least 2.5 inches in diameter. Size, height, branching, foliage density, color, and stage of growth vary naturally by species, season, and growing conditions.

Photos are representative examples of the species offered. Individual plants will vary. Flowers, buds, fruits, seeds or seed pods, and other ornamental features shown in listing photos are for illustration purposes and should not be expected on the plant received unless specifically stated in the listing.

A note on condition at arrival:
Shipping is inherently stressful for live plants. Temporary leaf softening, darkening of leaves or stems, minor discoloration, or light leaf drop may occur in transit. This is normal. Plant health should be assessed based on the root system and growing tip, not cosmetic appearance immediately after delivery. Allow time for acclimation. With proper light and watering, most plants recover and resume active growth.

📦 Shipping & Handling
Orders ship on Monday and Tuesday to minimize transit delays. Due to rising USPS Priority shipping costs, we are gradually phasing out free shipping, with portions of shipping costs still absorbed by Tulsi Grove. We currently ship within the contiguous U.S. only. We do not ship to AZ, HI, or AK due to agricultural regulations, inspection requirements, and extended transit times. Once an order is shipped, transit time, routing, weather delays, and carrier handling conditions are outside our control.

❄️ Cold Weather Shipping
Live plants are sensitive to cold. A Cold Weather Shipping Upgrade (heat pack and faster shipping) is available at checkout. Shipping to locations where temperatures are below 55°F, either at destination or in transit, requires both a heat pack and faster shipping. If cold protection is not selected under these conditions, the order is shipped at the buyer’s risk and voids the Arrive Alive guarantee.

Please contact us if you need guidance on cold protection or scheduling.

🌿 Nursery Standards
Our plants are grown in sterile, soilless media and maintained under clean, pest-managed conditions. Tulsi Grove is a FDACS licensed nursery. Once a plant leaves our controlled environment, it is exposed to external conditions and cannot be returned due to agricultural and sanitation regulations.

🛡️ Arrive Alive Policy (Limited Warranty)
Plants are guaranteed to arrive in healthy condition and true to the species described in the listing. No additional warranties regarding growth, survival, cultivar, color, blooms, or performance are expressed or implied beyond healthy arrival.

📋 Warranty Conditions
All of the following must be met:
• Issues must be reported within 24 hours of delivery
• Photos must clearly show:
○ the plant as received
○ original packaging
○ shipping label
• The plant must not be trimmed, repotted, staged, repositioned, or altered in any way prior to contact

Failure to meet any of the above conditions voids eligibility for resolution.

🚫 Returns & Exchanges
No returns or exchanges for live plants. Due to agricultural regulations and nursery sanitation standards, plants cannot be reintroduced once they leave our facility.

⚖️ Resolution Scope
When all conditions are met, resolution is limited to:
• Replacement, or
• Refund
at our discretion after review.

🧠 Buyer Responsibility
Live plants:
• experience stress in transit
• require acclimation
• depend on proper care after arrival
Cosmetic appearance at arrival is not a reliable indicator of plant health.

📸 Communication Protocol
If there is an issue, please contact us first with the required photos so we can assess the plant in its original condition. Posting a review does not change the resolution process. All claims must still meet the Warranty Conditions and documentation requirements listed above.

📝 Please note: Our goal is to provide healthy, well-rooted plants and a fair, consistent experience.
If you are seeking immediate visual perfection or intend to modify the plant before evaluation, this may not be the right fit, and we fully respect that. Orders intended to bypass agricultural restrictions, including the use of alternate delivery addresses or rerouting to restricted states, cannot be fulfilled. Photos shown are representative of the plant you will receive.
