How do you measure the garments?

Garments are measured flat. The flat number is then doubled to get the listed measurement. In most cases, the listed measurement is the absolute maximum for the garment. Exceptions to this will be noted in the listing. The bust is measured from armpit to armpit. The waist is measured at the smallest part. The hips are measured where the natural hip-line of the garment lies. The bodice is measured from the high point of the shoulder down to the waist. The length is the total length of the garment. The sleeves are measured from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve. The hem allowance is the amount of fabric that could be let out at the hem.

How do you grade the condition?

Items are graded to the following standards. MINT: An item is as perfect and pristine as when it was originally made and shows no sign of wear. MINT items may still show storage marks, but these will be noted in the listing. NEAR MINT: An item shows only the slightest signs of wear. EXCELLENT: An item shows typical signs of wear due to occasional use. VERY GOOD: An item is considered wearable but has some surface flaws (staining or small pinholes). GOOD: An item is wearable but has flaws or heavier signs of wear. WOUNDED/FAIR: An item has significant flaws and may need repairs prior to wear.

Are the items cleaned?

Yes! All items in the shop are cleaned with the exception of any deadstock items or extremely fragile items. These exceptions will be noted in the item's description. The vast majority of items in the shop are hand-washed. I use a variety of products to remove decades of dirt, grime, and stains. Items are then air dried (outside if possible) and then ironed or steamed to remove any wrinkles. Any items which cannot be hand-washed are taken to the dry cleaner.

What about potential allergens?

My home and everyone in it is smoke free! I have a cat-friendly home. Dresses and garments are stored away from the cats, but I cannot guarantee no cat allergens will be on the items. I use a variety of laundering products to clean the garments. I use scent-free whenever possible, but some of the products do have light scents. If you have any sensitivities to scent and would like one final wash in scent-free detergent, please reach out prior to purchasing.

Yes! All orders ship with complementary insurance included. If your order arrives damaged, please photograph and document everything and reach out so we can help. We also ship with signature confirmation on all orders over $250.
