Highlights

These unique oak pedestals are handcrafted from 19th century reclaimed French oak beams. Each of these solid wooden oak plinths or bases are unique and carries their own character and mark of time with natural cracks, patterns, and growth rings. The beauty of this piece is its simplicity, minimalism and strong connection to both nature and history.

▪️About The Wood
The oak beams used for these pieces are 150–200 years old, salvaged and restored by specialists from French barns, sheds, farm houses and other characteristic buildings. At the time, many of these beams were still hand hewn by axe due to mechanical saws being very rare at the time. Due to the slow ageing process across their lifetime the wood stabilizes, develops a deep organic tone, and gains an incomparable character. These pieces carry a visibly unique historical character in a quiet, grounded way.

- Reclaimed 19th century barn wood beam from France.
- Hand-finished, no chemical treatments.
- Anti-slip, anti-scratch felt foot pads.

▪️Natural Ageing Process
The oak beams used for these pieces are 150–200 years old. This slow, natural process preserves the wood’s authentic texture, stability, and organic colour.

▪️Sustainability
- My workshop is 100% powered by renewable energy (own solar + purchased wind and solar) and I exclusively use electric tools.
- All packaging is 100% recyclable (paper and biodegradable starch chips).
- All greenhouse emissions from deliveries are offset.
- Reclaimed and naturally weathered oak generates significantly fewer emissions than commercial lumber.

▪️Uniqueness
- Wood is a natural material and variations in growth, grain, tone, ageing, knots and texture are part of its character; especially weathered or reclaimed pieces that have aged naturally for many years.
- This means that no two pieces will ever be identical and that small variations in head size can occur.
- These differences are part of the material’s authentic character and make every piece one‑of‑a‑kind.
- When ordering multiple pieces, I take great care to select items that complement one another in tone and appearance.
- If you’d like to see more photos or videos, please don't hesitate to reach out.
