★PRODUCT INFORMATION★
You can see a longer version on YouTube here

I have made a few different cutting dimensions to help more people be able to cut it out easier. I originally made and designed this model on 2.5mm MDF and the dimensions of 1 sheet of my wood was 30x30cm. I have scaled this version up to work for different thicknesses if you want to use the exact same files that I used. All of these versions will require 5 sheets of wood and a tiny bit extra for a test cut.

★CUTTING DIMENSIONS Number 1★
●The 2.5mm version requires a cutting area of 300 x 300
●The 3mm version requires a cutting area of 360 x 360
●The 3.175mm (1/8") version requires a cutting area of 38cm x 38cm
●The 4mm version requires a cutting area of 48cm x 48cm

★CUTTING DIMENSIONS Number 2★
To help more people be able to cut this model, I have made some versions which fit on 30x30cm for all sizes (except the 4mm version). I have moved all of the pieces around randomly just to make everything fit. In the original files, all of the similar parts are close to each other. So the handle parts are all close together, the bits that go under the base are all together etc. In these versions, I had to move lots of things around to make it all fit but I did try to keep most of the parts close to their friends. It should still be easy to work out what is what so you will be fine to use these files!

●30x30cm sheets for the 3mm version. You will need 6 sheets of wood (+1 bit extra for the test cut)
●30x30cm sheets for the 3.175mm version (this is1/8”). You will need 8 sheets of wood (+1 bit extra for the test cut)
●38x38cm sheets for the 4mm version. You will need 8 sheets of wood (+1 bit extra for the test cut)

★FILE FORMATS ★
●SVG - Used for almost all laser cutters. They have the Internet Explorer logo but they are actually SVG
●Lightburn - Used for Lightburn - Please input your own power and speed settings
●CorelDraw - I saved these as Version 17. If you open up the CorelDraw files and see some crazy weird lines please let me know and I will save them for an earlier version for you.
●.ai - Used for Adobe Illustrator. I included these because almost any program can open these as well as for those who want DXF files. If you get weird lines in CorelDraw try these AI files instead. They also import into Lightburn.

The finished model is about 20cm wide, 30 deep and 20cm high if you are using 2.5mm wood. 3mm would be 1.2 times bigger, 3.175mm about 1.27 times bigger and 4mm would be 1.6 times bigger. I'll let you do the math sorry!

If you are confused or have a questions about whether you can cut it please message me through Etsy or email me at rossmcsweeney [!at] gmail.com

Feel free to message me with any questions you may have!

Good luck and happy swimming!

Ross

UPDATE - FEBRUARY 23, 2026 - Some of the engraved shapes on the turtle weren't closed. I have gone through and closed all the shapes for engraving.
UPDATE - FEBRUARY 27, 2026 - In Lightburn, one of the engraved fish lost its cut line around it. That has been fixed now! This only happened in the Lightburn files, all other file types were OK! If you purchased the file before this date please send me a message and I can send you an updated file.
*Difficulty Level - Advanced - For those who know all about the laser cutter they are using and software
As this model has a LOT of gears and moving parts it is very important that you are familiar with your laser cutter and software and kerf settings to make sure everything will work perfectly.

Had some trouble cutting a few of the pieces, but I think it was the software I was using. Ross was all over helping me get it sorted out. Thanks Ross!
