Highlights

Movement can be beautiful precisely because it cannot be held still.

A sweeping pink wave rises through the landscape as cranes cross a patterned golden sky. Dark mountains anchor the horizon, cherry blossoms gather below, and a glowing pink sun seems suspended between them.

Everything in this imagined world is in motion.

The wave rises, the birds move forward, the blossoms seem caught in the current. Yet rather than competing with one another, these different forms begin to create their own rhythm.

This fine art print is created from my original hand-cut collage, made with traditional Japanese Chiyogami papers. I search through patterns and colors for the few papers that somehow belong together, then cut within their designs, isolating and reimagining individual forms until they become part of an entirely new landscape.

I am deeply inspired by the beauty and visual traditions of Japanese art, and by the extraordinary craftsmanship of Chiyogami paper. I love the tension between the precision and intricacy of these traditional patterns and the freedom of transforming them into something unexpected.

In this piece, I was drawn to the meeting of seemingly opposite forces: delicacy and power, pattern and movement, structure and freedom.

The result is a world that could never exist in nature, yet somehow feels alive - an image meant to be experienced before it is explained.

FINE ART PRINT

Printed on Hahnemühle German Etching, a museum-quality 310gsm fine art paper with a rich, textured matte surface. Archival Giclée pigment printing preserves the depth, detail, and vibrancy of the original collage.
