Beauty does not always arrive quietly.

A great wave rises through the landscape, powerful and almost impossible to contain. Above it, cherry blossoms emerge against a dark sky, while layers of pink, blue, and intricate pattern move between sea, mountain, and horizon.

I am drawn to the tension within this image - between strength and delicacy, movement and stillness, the fleeting beauty of a blossom and the immense force of the sea.

This fine art print is created from my original hand-cut collage, made with traditional Japanese Chiyogami papers. Each paper is carefully chosen for its color, pattern, and movement. I cut into the existing designs, isolating and reimagining individual forms until they begin to belong to an entirely new landscape.

My work is deeply inspired by the beauty and visual traditions of Japanese art and by the extraordinary craftsmanship of Chiyogami paper. In this piece, waves and cherry blossoms become part of an imagined world that feels both familiar and impossible.

I want the image to be experienced before it is explained - for color, pattern, scale, and movement to create something immediate and visceral, something that reaches beyond the materials from which it was made.
