Measurements are taken with garments laid flat and calculated as follows unless listing states differently. shoulders=front seam to seam chest, waist, hip, and hem=measured across, number doubled length of jackets/tops=collar seam to hem pants rise=crotch seam to front waistband top pants inseam=crotch to hem

How Can I be Sure it Will Fit?

The ONLY way to determine if the item will fit is to compare the given measurements to a similarly styled garment you own. Vintage sizing tags do not correspond to modern sizing labels and are not to be used as a sizing guide, just reference. If these measurements correspond, then the item will most likely fit you. Also, if you're using your body measurements, don't forget to add an inch or two (or more) to the garment for ease of movement and comfort.
