Highlights
Exquisite little vintage Persian trinket box decorated with micro-mosaic marquetry. The box has a skilfully hand-painted miniature scene on the lid depicting a traditional Persian polo match with two riders on horseback. The box sides are decorated using Khatamkari, a traditional Persian art form of intricate inlay work using wood, bone and metal to create geometric patterns. The box has two hinges and little wooden feet. It is lined inside and on the base with red felt/velour. It measures 11.2cm long, 8.2cm wide and 6cm high. It weighs 152g and is in nice condition. A lovely little piece of folk art for safekeeping your treasures.
Please note that I often use recycled packaging materials, in order to keep your postage costs as low as possible, so apologies in advance if your items come imaginatively packed in English newspapers (I like to think they are interesting to my overseas customers!); strange recycled boxes and tins!
